Project #3 Presentation

1 comment:

  1. Although your presentation starts with ACCRS, the first video should be about the Alabama version of the Common Core for two reasons: 1. ACCRS has some significant differences. 2. The use of the term Common Core raises hackles among some people in Alabama. The use of ACCRS provides an opportunity to distinguish what Alabama does from the Common Core which is useful in some dissuasions.

The video you have used is a good one, however. maybe it could be edited so the Common Core would not be mentioned and the opening comments on ACCRS would lead the viewer to think ACCRS, not Common Core. An EDM310 student found TubeChop which makes editing or selecting a part of a video easy.

Your inclusion of sample standards is very helpful. I am sure your presentation would make them real for your audience.

The Edutopia video on King Middle School is over 6 minutes long. That may be too long to take your audience away from what you have to say. It is a good video, but I think it could be edited with TubeChop.

So you found the Capps videos useful. I am glad.

Do you think Mobile has enough public art for a project like the one in Portland to work.

An important motto: We don't learn about things. We DO things." Maybe I should add it to the EDM masthead.

Baldwin County is on the way. PBL and one to one! A reference to what Baldwin County is doing would be helpful. You have Capps' material and I can provide more.

Clipping important content from the film would really make your presentation more powerful I think.

Now where can you give these presentations? they need a real audience!
